David Jonathan Lewis
David Jonathan Lewis is a J.D. Candidate at Boston College Law School. He holds a Master of Public Policy degree from Harvard Kennedy School of Government. David also holds a bachelor's degree in public affairs from Indiana University. David’s research interests include housing and economic development. His most recent research, “Preserving Homeownership in Dallas,” was published at Harvard Kennedy School and details quantitative evidence supporting rapid changes in a Dallas neighborhood.
David is also a Board Member of Anidaso 360, an organization offering cultural immersion programs in Ghana to empower marginalized communities as they bring about social change in their communities. David served as an Adjunct Professor in Massachusetts and an elementary school teacher in Indiana. He also worked in a variety of policy roles including at nonprofits, a local government transition team, an electric cooperative service organization, and a state-wide political campaign.
David's work has been featured in media outlets covering community development and social change. Voyage ATL and the Indianapolis Recorder explored his experiences and perspectives as a Black man navigating higher education. Other outlets, including FOX61/CW20, Atlanta Black Star, and Harvard Kennedy School Anti-Racism Policy Journal highlighted his efforts to unite and empower Black men at Harvard. David's commitment to his hometown was recognized in the Gary 411 News, and his broader policy interests were showcased in the Northwest Indiana Times.
David maintains a genuine commitment to public service and community building. He follows in the footsteps of notable, community activists who did not dictate over communities, but listened to the community's needs and built with them.
